Your Pilates practice — wherever you are

The ideal version: mat packed, practice done before breakfast, every morning of the holiday. Disciplined. Impressive.

The real version: mat in the bag, mornings too busy, forgotten by day three.

Both are fine. But there's something in between — enough to keep the thread without making your holiday feel like a training week.

What travels

The Classical mat sequence. No equipment, no apparatus, no excuses.

The Hundred. The Roll Up. The Single Leg Circle. The Series of Five. Done well, with breath and attention, in fifteen minutes on any flat surface.

Want to take something? A magic circle and a toe corrector both fit in a suitcase. Light, small and more useful than people expect — especially the toe corrector, which most people own and most people underuse. It's one of those things that tends to live in a drawer at home. Travelling is actually a great time to get it out.

Short YouTube routines on our channel if you want something to follow — five to fifteen minutes, properly taught Classical Pilates, wherever you are.

What doesn't

The reformer. The Wunda Chair. Definitely not the Cadillac!

Leave them. They belong in the studio with a teacher. Recreating apparatus work in a hotel room without guidance isn't Pilates — it's guessing. Do something simpler instead and do it well.

A long break

A week off is nothing. Two weeks, fine. Even a month won't erase what's been built — if the foundation was there to start with. Muscle memory doesn't disappear. Postural awareness doesn't vanish. They go quiet. They need waking up when you return, but they're still in there.

Come back gently. First session is about reconnecting, not performing. By the third it'll start to feel like yours again.

Can't get into the studio

Virtual classes run through summer.

Tuesday — Virtual Standing Class. 30 minutes, live. Balance, alignment and coordination through standing work.

Thursday — Virtual Advanced Mat. A full mat session with Becky. Fast-paced and guided rather than taught — for clients who know the work and want to get it done.

Friday — Virtual Foot Class. 30 minutes, live. One of the most under-rated areas of Classical Pilates. Bring your toe corrector and a ball.

Have equipment at home — a reformer, a Wunda Chair or anything else? We can build a virtual session around what you've got. Just get in touch.

When you're ready to come back

The studio will be here. The apparatus, the team, the teacher who knows where you left off. However your summer went — welcome back. No speech. Just the work.

Haven't started yet? Our £55 Intro to the Studio package is a private session, a reformer class and a mat class. August works just as well as September.
