Nurture Your Nervous System: Why We're Hosting a Women's Wellness Open House

At Stourbridge Pilates Rooms, we talk a lot about movement. About posture, strength, mobility and the quiet confidence that comes from feeling at home in your body. But lately, we've been thinking about something bigger — about the women who walk through our doors carrying not just physical tension, but the weight of hormonal changes, chronic stress and a nervous system that never quite gets to switch off.

If you're in your 40s or 50s — or anywhere in the vicinity of perimenopause or menopause — you'll know that the changes happening in your body go far beyond hot flushes. Sleep suffers. Anxiety creeps in. Joints ache in ways they didn't before. Posture changes. Energy dips. And yet so many women are navigating all of this quietly, without much support, unsure where to even begin. That's exactly why we've partnered with the brilliant team at SN Clinic in Dudley to create something a little different.

Introducing: Nurture Your Nervous System

On Saturday 11th July at 11am, we're opening our doors for a free wellness open house — a time designed specifically for women who want to feel calmer, stronger and more connected to their bodies. It's not a class. It's not a sales pitch. It's a genuine morning of movement, education and practical tools, brought to you by two local businesses that care deeply about women's health.

What's the morning about?

We've designed the event around one central idea: that your nervous system is at the heart of almost everything you're feeling right now. When your nervous system is dysregulated — stuck in a state of stress or overwhelm — everything else suffers. Sleep, digestion, mood, pain levels, hormonal balance. The good news is that it responds beautifully to the right kind of movement, touch and awareness. And that's exactly what the morning is built around.

Here's what to expect:

Stretch & Release Session: We'll start with a gentle 30-minute stretch and release session — no Pilates experience needed, no pressure, just mindful movement designed to release tension, restore posture and begin to calm your nervous system. Come in comfortable clothes and leave feeling noticeably different.

Refreshments & Connection: There's something powerful about being in a room full of women who just get it. After the session we'll take a breather with refreshments — time to chat, connect and simply be.

Expert Talk from SN Clinic: The team from SN Clinic will then take the floor for a 30-minute talk covering menopause, hormonal health and holistic wellbeing. With both a physiotherapist and a holistic practitioner on hand, you'll get two perspectives — clinical and complementary — and plenty of opportunity to ask the questions you've been meaning to ask.

SN Clinic is an award-winning injury and wellbeing clinic based in Dudley, with a genuinely holistic approach to health. We're thrilled to have them as our partners for this event.

Cork Ball Self-Massage & Release: We'll close the morning with something practical — a hands-on self-massage and release session using cork balls. These small but mighty tools are brilliant for releasing fascial tension, calming the nervous system and easing the kind of deep muscular tightness that builds up over time. You'll leave knowing exactly how to use them at home, every day.

Who is this for?

This morning is for you if:

  • You're navigating perimenopause or menopause and want to understand what's happening in your body

  • You're dealing with stress, anxiety or a nervous system that feels permanently switched on

  • You're experiencing pain, tension or postural changes and want to do something about it

  • You've been curious about Pilates but haven't taken the first step yet

  • You simply want a morning that's entirely about feeling better

You do not need to be a current client. You do not need any experience. You just need to show up.

Why free?

Because we genuinely believe that women deserve access to good information and good movement without a barrier in the way. This event is our way of giving back to our existing community and opening our doors to new faces — because the more women who feel well, the better.

Places for the movement sessions are limited to 12 to keep it intimate and personal. The talk is open to a few more. Either way, we'd love to see you there.
